Step 4: Submit and save your confirmation number.

• Days 1-7: California processes your application. You may receive a phone interview.

• Every 2 weeks: You must "certify for benefits" — confirm you're still unemployed and looking for work.

• Direct deposit: Funds typically arrive within 3 business days of certification.
